Editorial Policy
Everything we publish is written to help principals and practice managers make informed funding decisions. This policy sets out who writes our content, how it is checked, and what you can expect from it.

Who writes our content
Our guides, sector pages and case studies are written and reviewed by Andrew Yates, Director and Finance Broker at Practice Capital, with over six years of direct experience arranging everyday business funding for UK professional practices. You can also find Andrew on LinkedIn.
Where a writer or researcher assists with drafting, the article is still reviewed and approved by Andrew before publication. AI tools may be used to assist with structure or drafting, but no article is published without human review for accuracy and compliance.
Our editorial principles
- Accuracy first — figures, terms and timescales are described as indicative, because every facility depends on lender assessment, affordability and status.
- No guarantees — we never promise approval, a specific rate, a specific limit or a specific decision time.
- Plain English — we explain funding in the language a practice principal actually uses, not lender jargon.
- Useful over promotional — articles are written to answer a real question, not simply to sell.
- Independent framing — we are an independent brokerage working with a specialist lender panel, and we do not present any single lender as the only option.
How we research and source information
Sources we rely on
- Direct experience of deals arranged for UK professional practices
- Current lender criteria, product guides and underwriting feedback from our panel
- Official sources such as HMRC, Companies House, the FCA and relevant professional bodies
- Publicly available market data, cited where it materially supports a point
Case studies and success stories
Case studies are based on real transactions arranged by Practice Capital. Client names are always anonymised, and figures, locations or details may be rounded, generalised or omitted at the client's request or to protect confidentiality. A past outcome for one practice is not an indication of what another practice will be offered.
Review and updates
Funding criteria, rates and lender appetite change regularly. We review published content periodically, and sooner where a material change in the market, regulation or lender criteria makes an article out of date. Each article shows its publication date, and a revised date where a substantive update has been made.
Advertising, commission and independence
We are paid a commission by the lender when a facility completes. There are no upfront fees to the client. Commission does not determine what we publish, and we do not accept payment from lenders in exchange for editorial coverage or favourable mentions. Where an article links to our own services, that is clear from the context.
Not financial advice
Our content is general information about business funding options. It is not personal financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and it does not take account of your practice's individual circumstances. You should take professional advice before making a funding decision. Any facility is subject to lender assessment, affordability and status.
Corrections and feedback
If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, out of date or unclear, please tell us and we will review it promptly. Where a correction is needed, we will amend the article and update its revision date. Contact us at andrew@practicecapital.co.uk or on 01244 906505.
